The hilly region of Bangladesh is full of diversity
Nature has decorated Bangladesh in many different colors, a land of great beauty. And that has enriched the mountainous region of the country. 12 percent of Bangladesh's total land area is hilly, one-tenth of which is in the three hill districts in the southeast. Hilly areas in some other districts of the country account for the remaining 2 percent. A total of 1.6 lakh hectares of land in the country consists of hilly land made up of sedimentary rocks. The diverse hilly regions of Bangladesh are home to lush green forests rich in unique natural resources. Forests have increased importance in hill ecosystems.

A unique collection of bio-diversity across the hills, various vegetables, and more than 6000 types of fruits, forests, and herbs and 1952 species of invertebrates, 653 species of fish, 50 species of amphibians, 147 species of snakes, 127 species of mammals, and 566 species of birds. Cultural heritage has enriched the hill region. It is as if nature has poured itself out and created an incredible scene of biodiversity in the mountainous area and a wonderful scene to entertain the tourists. The green nature surrounded by mountains attracts tourists in different ways at different times. This is like another game of changing the form of nature from moment to moment. The hilly regions of this country appear in one form to the travel-thirsty in winter, in the same way, they appear in another form in monsoon. In winter, the sweet glow of the golden sun is shrouded in mist and clouds. On the other hand, nature regains new youth in the ceremony of greenery that wakes up all around during the monsoon. The hilly areas are the busiest for adventure tourists during the monsoons.
This hilly region with its sleeping hills leaning against the blue sky, mountain springs, and green dense forests is one of the most promising sectors of tourism in Bangladesh. The 3 districts of Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Bandarban in the mountainous region of Bangladesh have immense tourism potential.
